This video confirms my love for music, my passion for the art. People would watch this video with the mere thought of, “this is just another studio session”. Your right it is but to me it’s so much more than that. It’s the creativeness and drive that make me love music sooo much. Latif went into the studio whipped up a song (which I love) and Sha Sha went on the track and took it where it needed to be, in 1 session, 1 day. Amazing!! Between me and you, when i watch this video i started to feel made emotional, only because, music is in my heart it’s my passion, what keeps me going AND i kick myself all the time knowing I'm letting my talent wither away. *sigh*

Ain't procrastination a motherfu...
Once again this bitch has fucked up the motives for my week. I would like to put the onus on myself BUT I am more convinced now than ever that procrastination is a fatal disease that plagues millions of students world wide...how else do you explain all of us falling victim to "never getting our work done"?

They always say as the above image illustrates oh so clearly, to "never put off what you can do today til tomorrow" and ye it sounds nice and dandy when you have that motivation to or you just got back a great mark and are driven to finally put the pen to the pad...but how many of us really follow through? Shoot, I know for one that I don't. I am not even fini lie to ya'll. I said Friday after BASICALLY getting the answers and questions to my exam this Friday that I was going to start studying for my test tomorrow as well as my exam coming up...it's now Sunday 45 minutes from Monday, and I have yet to do so. What have I been doing all this time...fuck, I don't even know. I slept, I ate, I shat, I bathed, I kicked it with my ppls, I ate, and then repeated the cycle over again 2 days straight. In the span of 72 hours..it is completely sad and embarassing to say that I have not done shit, nothing productive all damn weekend. NOW AIN'T THAT A BITCH.

So to take accountability for my inaction, I decided to talk about procrastination in hopes that talking about it and acknowledging that I have procrastinated all weekend long on this studying, would lead to me actually getting my ass up out my seat and start studying if not even for an hour! People, please use me as an example. Do not end up like me and the millions of other students out there right now at 11:19 pm who are waiting til the wire to get shit accomplished. Not only is it a horrible feeling, but it's really a bad habit to acquire that will follow you into your future endeavours if you so as make it that far before a)burning out b)killing yourself or c)giving up, and for us all I hope it's the latter if so be.

Now that I have provided my public announcement to the youth of North America and beyond, I shall practice what I preach and hit them books.

So this entire weekend, I've been working and researching for my research argumentative essay ( yes, RESEARCH) and because of that I missed my best friends birthday party back in Toronto ( sorry RELLO i love you), didn't go to this poppin party last night here in ottawa, and stayed up so late. and the thing about it is that im not upset. Through it all, God was on my side because my professor gave me an extension, and I didnt even have to ask for it, this is great, so now i dont have to rush my essay for tomorroe ( monday) and settle for like a 70% and I can strive to get a 90% or something, I'm so excited, I guess me staying home and know what is more important, school work over leisure, having my priorites straight that the Lord blessed me with an extension, Thank you Jesus! <3

last summer the girls and i went to new york, and that's where it happened.

I started this post, practically finished it and deleted it all. I'm just going to get to the point.

I went to church today, a youth service. The Pastor talked about sexuality,the body,and marriage--of course i was intrigued, knowing my luck with boys. Anyway i went with an open mind, i haven't been to church in a while and it wasn't my regular church so what was in store-- i had no clue. After watching one of the most powerful sermon's a girl could every watch a lot of the girls broke down. ANYHOW,while everyone was praying and thanking God i found myself crying as well, because i knew that God knows everything i am going through, and have been through and i was just thankful. I left feeling GREAT.

Sometimes i forget how much of an important role God plays in my life, and i know sometimes i put him in the back seat. But every now and again i find myself thanking him, because i know "If he brought me to it, he will bring me through it." I'm working on becoming a better person, i'm not perfect..and my flaws might be a little bit more evident than others, but i'm thankful.

this is one of my favorite gospel songs, and i cry almost every time i play it. [if you haven't noticed already, i'm emotional..and when it comes to this i am very easily moved] i have my mom to thank for that, she never lets me forget that God is #1 in life, and the power of prayer.

So i decided to check my e-mail today, and through all the ten's of facebook and twitter notifications ( http://twitter.com/jaybritt) I came across this e-mail from my friend cj, she always seems to send these chain letters..lol.. even the tricky ones. So while deleting I decided to read this one, and I'm glad I did, this was a inspirational chain letter probing others to stop for a minute, take time in the fast lives that they are so used to living, apart from all the materialistic things in life and set aside some personal, self reflection time. Its always good to havea spiritual side, everyone has one, and everyone believes in something if it isn't God, I believe in God, and others may not, but you do have some sort of faith in something, get in touch with that part. Today a francaphone lady came to my door she said she was from St. Michaels Catholic Church down the street from me and Raineys house and she dropped of 2 church newspapers and a little emblem thing to attach to my key chain, it was of mary.. I dunno, I think God is hinting me to get back into going to church, my friends actually went ot a youth group today for 3pm - 5pm somewhere in ottawa, but i couldn't go because i have this big research essay for my global political economy class due monday, so thats priority,, plus,, its worth 30% of my grade... *yikes* Yeah... but honestly, I was talking with rainey, we have to start going back to church like we use to, back in toronto, we both went to catholic school so it was mandatory we went to mass and stuff, but now that were in university, we are grown, no one to guide is to spirituality, no religion course every year... i dunno, just something to think about,oh and enjoy the chain letter below!

Today I had another day off from school, no class, and I went to hand in my assignment at the drop box in the Loeb Building. ( For those who go to Carleton University and are in Law, you know the drop box) so yes, I was waiting for the elevator and its packed, whatever, I am not taking the stairs. So i get on the elevator and i'm getting off the 4th floor and right then and there, I trip in front of all the people in the elevator, so I quickly walk to the drop box to hand in the assignment. so saddd... thats not all that happened to me today....

i take the train to meet up with rainey downtown at rideau centre (Ottawa) and she says to me " jay, you have some sort of run in your tights, like sorta torn soo for the rest of the day, I walked around with my hand hiding my butt, cuz apparently it was at the but crack part..lol, i tried soo hard to stretch my shirt farther then it could go...lmfao, so sadd.. soft.. This weekend I made a short visit to Toronto for some business. During this trip I made a quick detour downtown Eaton Center to change the size of these shoes i bought..urgg.. but whatever, shoes were worth it!! But yes, the real point of the matter is that this ad was posted on the train, where all the rest of the ads are posted on the train. So I look up and this is what I read, I dont know how to feel about this comment, this advertisement, this statement. I remembered the website and looked it up, and started reading about some interesting stuff, some kind of charity. It sfunny because this women on the train was the one that pointed it out to me, and she was quite upset, she felt as if it was some sort of racisit comment. I promised myself i wouldn't give in, like every other blog and post anything about the Chris Brown, Rihanna situation. BUT after hearing that this guy can spend up to 9 years in prison, even with her testimony makes me really wonder the extent of the situation.
I felt bad for her, everyone looking down on her decision to get back with him, its clear and very obvious she loves him, but i question whether the feelings are really mutual. This is my last post for the night, i know we haven't been keeping up with the posts...really i don't have an excuse except for that i been catching up on some serious sleep. don't hate me :D lol

Anyway today i had to restore my ipod, its actually syncing right now, i didn't realize how many songs i have on it..and there is still space left. Anyway lately i have been thinking about some stuff that's happened in my life, and this ipod situation made me automatically think about starting over..well maybe not over...but starting fresh.

Basically everything happens for a reason..my ipod was due for clean up anyway..and the events that happen in my life, were also meant to happen. I can no longer dwell on the past, and give those people too much credit for the significant (or lack thereof) role they play, or played in my life. The way i see it is, if you wanted or want to be in my life...then you would be.

I was on facebook the other day, and my friend had a comment that kinda went like this. "Friendship or Love" -- i dont think you can have a friendship without love..its just that simple..i love my friends flaws and all..but im not IN love with them. lol i have never been IN love..i dont know if i believe in love anymore besides the love i have for my friends and my family. Vivien Theodore Thomas (August 29, 1910 – November 26, 1985) he was an African- American Cardiologist. I first learned about him in the summer of 2006 when i participated in a Summer Mentorship Program at the University of Toronto when I thought i wanted to be a "cardiologist". He was the man who found the appropriate stitching concept for sewing the ventricles located in the hear. If you know anything about science and biology, the heart has 2 valves, one for oxygenated blood and the other for deoxygenated blood. ( sorry its my fascination of the human heart that i have.) but yes, Mr. Thomas found the correct procedure for curing the "blue baby". These were babies that were born that were not getting enough oxygen in to their blood to circulate through their bodies thus causing them to turn blue because of the blue blood that had not received oxygen. Nonetheless, Dr. Vivian Thomas at first was not recognized for his work, why? His physical appearance gives a simple answer. He was later given recognition after having to perform the surgery for his head cardiologist. We remember him through black history month as a successful African- American man that made a name for his self in a time of doubt, which was African - American could not compare at the time to the capabilities of the white male. Sorry for those who decided to read this, I just remembered to post someone today and its past my bed time. So I hope you read more about Dr. Vivian Thomas, there was actually a movie made inspired of his life and what he did with it. I always have theses great ideas, but i never really put them in to action..im either to scared, or i don't have the right resources. Nowadays i realize that its not always what you know, but WHO you know. SO with that being said, I'm going to make it my duty to get involved and meet people this summer.
I'm kind of tired of sitting around saying to myself "oh, i could have done that" or "i sooo thought of that." So I'm actually going to do something about it, or at least try to. We'll see how that goes, gotta have faith.

Anyway i was just surfing the net, and got inspired....with that being said I'm going to go end some out some emails. LOL
